During a normal concert season we would be hard at work preparing for our Fall Masterworks Concert. This preparation would be coupled with the anticipation of seeing and welcoming our beloved audience into the concert hall. While we cannot yet return to live performances, we are hard at work on exciting projects to provide music that touches your heart and soul.
Late last month, a small group of masked musicians gathered in our beloved Bedford Hall for a socially-distanced recording session. While we are still adjusting to performing in masks and to an empty hall, any opportunity for ensemble music-making is a welcome change to pandemic life.
To celebrate Polish Heritage, four of our wonderful violinists recorded a performance of Grażyna Bacewicz’s Quartet for Four Violins. Maestro Pasquale Laurino also led a small group in a performance of a chamber music classic, Mendelssohn’s Octect in E-flat, Op. 20.

Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank the University of Wisconsin-Parkside for hosting the RSO, and the Racine Community Foundation for their generous sponsorship of this event. Their support is crucial to our mission to enrich, educate, and entertain through the power of music.
Watch this space for information regarding the public release of these recordings and a special Polish Cultural Heritage event. Enjoy the music!
